In celebration of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday and in recognition of Black History Month, the Washington County Arts Council proudly presents "The Past Is Always Present," an inspiring exhibition that showcases the remarkable creativity of 14 African American artists. This exhibition featuring a diverse array of original paintings, mixed media, and assemblage works, invites the community to engage with contemporary narratives that honor and reflect upon our shared history. Curated by Eileen Berger, the owner of Just Lookin' Gallery in Downtown Hagerstown, this exhibition serves as a vital platform for fostering meaningful dialogue. Exhibbit runs through Tuesday, March 24, 2026.
Opening Reception: Friday, January 16 from 5pm to 7pm.
